Looking back to the future

For many of us, 2023 passed in the blink of an eye. It was a busy, and for many, a difficult year. But here we are, about to step into a new year once again, filled with even more possibilities.

Looking back over the past twelve months, it’s no surprise that it went so quickly. We rebranded from davies tanner to dt, with a new identity, website, and mission, to “Take you where you want to go.” We expanded our team with even more talented people joining us on our journey, and we continued our transition from a traditional #pragency to a more data, digital and audience led business which reflected the changing needs of our clients, delivering more campaigns than ever before. We welcomed several new high-profile clients to our portfolio, including becoming the Global Agency of Record for ICCA, and growing our new business by a hugely impressive 68% - reinforcing our position as the leading communications agency for the global business events sector.

The Business of Events (TBOE), our Think Tank and Advocacy Network continued its rapid expansion, supported by a multitude of new partners as we further engaged with Government, policy makers and influencers. We conducted even more research, including our Planner Sentiment Report, Quarterly Economy Tracker and Global Destination Report, which we launched at IBTM World as part of the TBOE content on the Impact Stage. Finally, we ended the year with the biggest and most successful UK Policy Forum to date, held at IET London: Savoy Place.

So, it was a busy year, but none of this would have been possible without the support and hard work of our incredible team and our amazing loyal clients, and I thank every single one of them.

As we begin 2024, I feel excited for what is to come. What we do is going to be even more crucial for our industry in what will be a year of more uncertainty. Words matter, and being able to tell a compelling story to your audience and remain engaged is going to dictate your level of success. We also have a hugely exciting announcement in the first quarter of 2024, so please look out for that.
