The Business of Events Senior Leadership Forum today celebrated a wealth of shared knowledge with attendees having a combined 3,788 years, 9 months and five days experience in the events industry.
The event welcomed more than 100 senior leaders from the events industry, government officials and Members of Parliament.
There were a number of sessions delivered by the All Party Parliamentary Group for the Events Industry; the Department for Culture, Media & Sport; the UK Events Industry Board and VisitBritain/VisitEngland.
Yesterday, James Heappey MP, Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group for the Events Industry kicked off the London programme with The Business of Events Parliamentary Debate at Portcullis House. More than 50 delegates attended the debate which focused on Infrastructure; People, Talent and Skills; Marketing and Promotion. The debate was followed by a Senior Leadership Reception at the QEII Centre and a private dinner at The Royal Society attended Michael Ellis MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State.
Simon Hughes, Vice Chair of the Business Visits and Events Partnership, who moderated the event said: “The level of support that we have received from across the entire events industry this year shows how important these events are. It is more crucial than ever that we continue to have a highly engaged sector that can work together to meet the challenges we currently face and grown our industry for the benefit of all.”
The Business of Events (TBOE) is a series of independent cross sector events designed to engage, support and promote the UK event industry. Organised in association with VisitBritain, TBOE is also supported by the UK Events Industry Board, Business Visits and Events Partnership and the All Party Parliamentary Group for the Events Industry.
The events are supported by a number of leading organisations from across the sector, including VisitScotland Business Events, Cvent, QEII Centre, ICC Wales, IBTM, drp, Scottish Event Campus, The Royal Society, Visit Wales and the newly created Aberdeen Convention & Events Bureau.
