The Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) brought Glaswegian warmth and welcome to the Raphael Gallery at the Victoria & Albert Museum last night with its unique and legendary Burns Supper.

300 dignitaries, buyers, stakeholders and media in the conference, exhibition and live entertainment industries were treated to a warming Burns Supper and colourful Scottish entertainment. Highlights included the traditional tongue-in-cheek speeches of the Toast to the Lassies and the customary Lassies’ Reply; delivered this year to considerable acclaim by Allan Snedden and journalist and presenter Kirsty Wark. The famous Address to the Haggis was given by Stuart Hendry from Glengoyne Distillery.

Kathleen Warden, Director of Conference Sales at the SECC said: “The SECC’s Burns Supper is always one of the hottest tickets in town. This year was no exception and we were really pleased to celebrate our most successful year ever with our friends across the industry.

Hosting some of our previous, existing and prospective clients with some traditional Scottish hospitality is a great way to kick off 2016. There couldn’t be a better way to showcase, the SECC, Glasgow and Scotland.

The event was supported by Visit Scotland, Glasgow City Marketing Bureau (GCMB), Compass and Glengoyne Whisky.
