De Vere Wokefield Estate, near Reading – part of the De Vere portfolio of country estate hotels and event destinations – has announced its £20 million refurbishment is now complete, following the renovation of an additional 37 luxury bedrooms and the introduction of a golf driving range. Phase one of the restoration project was completed in June 2018, and the second phase, which ended on 21st November 2018, saw the complete renovation of its modern event destination, Wokefield Place and a number of spaces in the Mansion House.

The impressive Mansion House has now been restored to glory and takes its place once again at the heart of De Vere Wokefield Estate. Offering 87 new luxury guestrooms in the Mansion House, and a further 289 refurbished bedrooms in Wokefield Place and Wellington Lodge, the estate provides an ideal setting for both corporate and consumer bookings and events.

Each room showcases luxurious, distinctly British interiors blending a heritage colour palette of muted greens, greys, taupe and cream with contemporary fixtures and fittings to create spaces that are restful and calming. Fluffy robes and slippers, classic Roberts radios, quality toiletries and smart TVs are just some of the features that provide a tranquil feel to the reimagined guest rooms.

Guests are well catered for when it comes to dining and socialising. The new, 90-seater 1560 Restaurant & Bar in the Mansion House, serves a British-inspired menu, alongside a range of craft beers, wines and classic cocktails. Since the renovations begun, a new Whiskey Lounge has opened for those looking to unwind; and the re-designed restaurant, The View, and Benedict’s Bar located in Wokefield Place, offer a range of delicious dishes. An outdoor pizza oven has also been introduced on the terrace, which serves artisan stone baked pizzas on warmer days.

Peter Sangster, Venue Director at De Vere Wokefield Estate, commented: “We’re delighted with the results of the refurbishment, it’s been a real pleasure to breathe new life into this historic property. The attention to detail and beautiful marriage of modern functionality with classic style is breath-taking and we firmly believe that we have created a property that caters perfectly for our guests, whatever their reason for visiting.”

Set in 250-acres of beautiful Berkshire parkland, the estate features superfast Wi-Fi up to 100 metres from the venue. The grounds also boast an 18-hole, par 72, Championship golf course designed to US PGA standards, with a new driving range launching in March.

Conveniently located near Reading, just eight minutes from J11 of the M4 and 40 minutes from Heathrow Airport, De Vere Wokefield Estate is extremely accessible.
