Situated just north of Bristol, De Vere Tortworth Court, part of De Vere’s collection of historic mansion house estates and distinctive contemporary hotel and event destinations, celebrated the completion of its refurbished mansion house with an exclusive garden party on 6th June 2019.
Over 200 guests gathered within the 30-acre grounds to enjoy food and drink including a Lanson Champagne bar, 6 O’clock gin bar, canapés, a barbeque and salad bar. After participating in garden games, exploring the hotel’s grounds and newly renovated interiors, guests enjoyed live jazz music and a firework finale.

De Vere Tortworth Court’s £6-million renovation has positioned the Mansion House back at the heart of the Grade II listed property. The refurbishment saw the transformation of meeting rooms into 11 spacious bedroom suites, bringing the total number of guestrooms and suites to 55 within the main house. It also preserved many original features whilst adding new touches of modern countryside charm to the gothic mansion, including the hotel’s grand staircase and galleries seen above the refurbished reception and public areas.
The estate also offers organisers 14 flexible meeting and events spaces, including eight new meetings rooms with conference cafes and executive boardrooms, to the Westminster Suite and the stand-alone Victorian Orangery. All meeting rooms benefit from De Vere’s Smart Space concept, which comprises nine service features, including; tech-savvy support, super-fast Wi-Fi and nutritious menus crafted by Wendy Martinson OBE.
Home to one of Britain’s finest arboretums, the hotel has hundreds of rare and domestic trees, as well as specially commissioned sculptures by artist Emma Stothard, including a parliament of hares positioned as the centerpiece of the formal garden. Guests of the hotel also have access to the state-of-the-art gym and the Leaf Spa with six new treatment rooms, an indoor pool, sauna and steam rooms.
De Vere Tortworth Court is close to Bristol, Cardiff and Oxford and easily accessible from the M5 and M4.
